Get Well Wishes - FMS #641

Summer has finally arrived and while the saying "careful what you wish for" comes to mind when the high temps kick into gear, we're still enjoying the sunshine and blue skies.

Here's My Card:

I wanted to send a card to my brother-in-law to cheer him up and let him know we were thinking of him, but when I checked my card supplies I realized I was out of get well cards. It's time to replenish my stock.

I don't have any current Stampin' Up! get well stamps, but after a search of my retired ones I found one called "Wellness Wishes", that had small images that are perfect for making some plain and simple get well cards.

For my layout I chose this week's sketch challenge #643 by Freshly Made Sketches. It actually was perfect for showcasing the small stamps in this set. The Designer Series Paper is one of the new InColors called Peach Pie.

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set:

Wellness Wishes by Stampin' Up! (retired)

Ink:

Momento Tuxedo Black

Blends:

  • Crumb Cake (Light & Dark)
  • Peach Pie (new in color) (L&D)
  • Petal Pink - L
  • Flirty Flamingo - L
  • Bronze
  • Real Red - L
  • Pool Party - L
Dies:
  • Perennial Postage #162607
  • Layered Squares (Retired)
Accessories:
  • Dimensionals
  • Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins 163484
  • Basic 3 D Embossing Folder (R) 1 of 3 folders featuring hatched design

Oh my, what fun little stamps.  I love the bandaids and contemplated putting little punched out hearts in the center, but then I just couldn't cover up those sweet little faces.  The Shiny Sequins are absolutely gorgeous and add a little pop of glam to this card.

Thanks for popping by and seeing today's card.

What's Happening in Stamping in July

Welcome to July!

July is the seventh month of the year.  Its birthstone is a Ruby the zodiac signs are Cancer and Leo.  This month gets off to a resounding start with two very special events happening this week:

July 1 - Canada Day 🍁- I'm proud to say I'm Canadian and join my fellow Canadians across Canada in commemorating the joining of the Canadian provinces under one federation. Canada Day honours the many cultures that have located here and serves as a time for reflection reconciliation and the importance of honoring Indigenous cultures and histories.

July 4 - Independence Day (US) 🎆- Our neighbors to the South will be celebrating their Independence Day which marks the United States' declaration of independence from British rule, typically celebrated with parades, fireworks, and barbecues.  Happy Independence Day to all my fellow US Stampers and friends!

Other Fun Days to Celebrate in July!

    • July 7 - World Chocolate Day 🍫 ‍ ...
    • July 11 - World Population Day 🌍 ‍ ...
    • July 18 - International Nelson Mandela Day 🕊 ‍ ...
    • July 21 - National Junk Food Day 🍟 ‍ ...
    • July 21 - National Ice Cream Day 🍦 ‍ ...

JULY 2024 HOSTESS CODE

Welcome to July 1st and happy Canada Day!  Every paper crafter needs stuff, but not everyone can afford to place orders over $200 or host workshops to accumulate sales, so offering my monthly hostess code for smaller orders, is my way of saying "thanks for supporting my business".

If you're planning on placing a July order valued from $60 to $199.00 (before shipping and tax) just add my July Hostess Code #TV6MSNDX at the end of your order to receive a small token of my appreciation and a thank you card.

The benefits of shopping at my online store and adding my monthly Hostess Code are:

  • You never have to go to a workshop or party.
  • If you need help with your product choices I'm always here to help.
  • You get to decide when to place your order and my online store is available 24/7.
  • Your new products are shipped directly to your front door and generally arrive within 5-7 days of placing your online order.
  • After you've placed your order and applied the current hostess code you'll receive a free surprise gift from me and thank you card generally within 2-3 weeks.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

My July Hostess Code/free gift offer is only available for orders placed on-line and you must add the hostess code before the order is finalized. If you don't already have an online account with me, you'll need to set up an account. It's fast and easy. Once you've got your account set up you simply type in the monthly hostess code at checkout to any qualifying order valued from $60 to $199.00 (before shipping, tax and handling).

Before you finalize your order at checkout you must add my hostess code for the month to the circled area in the above snapshot. Check and make sure that it's the right code, because I can't add the code for you, once the order is placed. If the code isn't on your order it won't qualify for my free gift although you'll still receive a thank you card from me.

If your order totals more than $200, no worries, you'll automatically receive Stampin' Rewards at the checkout based on your order total and will be prompted to enter products adding up to the qualifying amount before you proceed to checkout.

NOTE: My July Hostess Code promo closes at noon on July 31st, 2024. Your free gift and thank you card will be sent to you by the 3rd week in August.

Under the Moon - TSOT Challenge #648

Under the Moon

One of the first sets I chose from Stampin' Ups! new annual catalogue was the Under The Moon eight piece photopolymer stamp set.  I was excited to try out the Moon/Sun images and couldn't wait to ink them up. They didn't disappoint.  Because the texture of the images are deeply etched I began by inking up the stamps with Versa Mark ink and then re-inking them with my coloured ink to ge4t a more precise image.

The Under the Moon stamp set is so much fun to play with. It's one of those very versatile sets that triggers your creativity, and the more you play and experiment with it the more ideas you'll come up with.

When I saw challenge #648 at the TSOT (Try A Sketch on Tuesday) blog I instantly knew I wanted to create a scenic card using the Under the Moon set.  Here is sketch challenge #648 which opened on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, and will run through Sunday, June 16, 2024.  I encourage you to play along and have some fun.

Here's My Card:
I used my interpretation of this sketch to create two monochromatic retirement or holiday cards using the new Incolour Summer Splash.

Card One:

Card Two:

Well that's it for this challenge.  Hope you like my adaptation of the sketch.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on my monochromatic cards.

HERE'S THE SKETCH:

Click here to see the Design Team samples.

HERE'S MY CARD:
Today I've created a masculine card for Father's Day, but this design could just as easily be used as a gesture of appreciation for a husband or male friend.  My design features images from the Adventurous Sky stamp set which is fast becoming one of my favourite sets from Stampin'  Up!s Annual Catalogue.

I decided to follow the sketch by using circles for my card design and began by adding graduated layers of cardstock and paper to the card front.  Here are  the measurements:
  • 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Copper Clay cardstock,
  • 5 1/4 x 4" piece of Misty Moonlight
  • 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" piece of designer series paper featuring bi-planes
  • 5" x 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, embossed with a hatched design from the Online Exclusives called Basics 3-D Embossing Folder.  I die cut 3 circles using a set of nested circles and added foam tape to the backside before positioning it over the designer series paper.

I stamped off one of the cloud images from the Adventurous Sky stamp set onto the circle I'd cut from the Whisper White layer.  I then stamped the sentiment "You Always Life Me Up" over top of the cloud in Misty Moonlight ink and popped on a few copper coloured sequins.

For the inside of the card I stamped images of the bi-plane and riveting in Misty Moonlight ink and the sentiment in Copper Clay ink.  The blue layer is a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" designer series paper from the Take to the Sky designer paper.

Supplies:

Stamp Set:

  • Adventurous Sky #163439

Card Stock:
  • Misty Moonlight
  • Copper Clay
  • Whisper White

DSP:

  • Take to the Sky #16343
Ink:

  • Misty Moonlight - Neutral
  • Copper Clay - Incolour 2023-2025
Embellishments:

  • Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins #161627 in Copper Clay
  • Basics 3-D Embossing Folder #161598 - hatched design

I hope you enjoyed today's card and that you'll come back and visit again. I'd love to hear if you took the challenge and what type of card you made.
