Time flies doesn't it? I can't believe it's time again for the Watercooler Wednesday challenge . This time around it's an inspiration challenge.
Take a look at this beautiful photo inspiration from Bev. The Watercooler Design team have created some beautiful cards, so make sure you check them out and leave them some comments, if you're inspired too. There's definitely some good ideas going on here!
Here's My Card:
I'm busy making Christmas cards right now, so after thinking a bit about what I wanted to make, I chose to design a non-traditional Christmas card using the purples, silver and hint of green from this picture. I was drawn by the picture above the bed and the bubbly light fixture when I first glanced at this picture, however there are many other subtle details for inspiration such as the silver metal head and foot boards on the bed, the pink flowers on the mannequin and the green accessories on the dresser.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Mosaic Madness (R), Ornament Keepsakes (R), Holiday Collection (R)
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder Marker, Blackberry Bliss Marker
Card Stock: Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Modern Mosaic (R) and Decorative Dots TIEF*, Big Shot, Trimmer, Mosaic Punch (R), Itty Bitty Accents Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Tom Bow Adhesive, Window Sheet Scraps, Dimensionals
*Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
I hope you enjoyed this card. If you want more details on assembling this pop up drop me a line. If I get enough response I'll do a tutorial.
Happy Stamping!

These three squares represent the wall picture. The layers are Pear Pizzazz, Blackberry Bliss and Perfect Plum. The mosaic tile was inked up with Wisteria Wonder and Black Berry Bliss inks. |
When you open the card a delightful array of ornaments pop up to greet you. I love this little surprise and how the ornaments wobble and bobble about. |

Beautiful Penny!
Thanks Debra, wonderful to hear from you again. Hope all's well. Glad you think this card is beautiful because it truly is a little dazzler, unfortunately my camera shots made the colours look less vibrant.
What a delightful card! So nice to see the mosaic stamps and shape featured. The incredible art inside the card takes my breathe away. Thank you for joining the challenge again this week!
Thanks Bev for commenting on my card. I really wanted to use some of my new stamps from the Occasions catalogue but I'm holding off for the blog hop next week. LOL! Thus the fall back to these retired gems. Yes, I love the inside of the card too! What fun.
Oh Penny! Your card is amazing. I especially love the inside of it! Gorgeous!
Thanks so much Susan. Glad you liked the inside of the card too!
Very cool card Miss Penny. Interesting the way the mosaic embossing picked up the white reflections from the lights along the top of the wall in the inspiration picture. The inside of your card is a wonderful surprise. Love that idea. I'll have to "borrow" it for some of my holiday cards. Thanks for playing along with the challenge. :D
Beautiful card Penny. It reflects the challenge in so many says that your card is really wonderful. Thank you so much for playing along with our challenge!
So pretty, Penny! Thanks for the "inside instructions." And purple is one of my favorite colors for Christmas cards. Love it.
Lovely card, Penny! Marsha DT @ WWC
Oh my goodness, Penny, where to begin. What a fabulous card you've created. The inside rivals the outside and either one would make a perfect entry for the challenge. I love your inspired version of our inspiration photo. It is absolutely gorgeous. There isn't a thing I would change. This is going into my CASE file. Thanks so much for joining us this week for our Watercooler Wednesday challenge.
Wow Heidi thanks so much for your comments. Glad you're going to case it, this is a fun card to make.
Thanks Marsha and Buffy for your comments. Purple has always been a favourite Christmas colour for me too Buffy. The year Concord Crush was released, I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven, I used it so much. Sad day when it retired for me.
Thanks Jean for commenting. Glad you noticed that wave thing going on in the inspiration picture back wall. I saw that too, and although I can't say it totally was the reason for my using the Mosaic TIEF, it kind of felt right adding that design to the white space.
Penny - great use of colour for your Christmas card. I love the "dangling" Christmas balls in the inside
Beautiful Christmas card and LOVING the 3D happening inside. Can't wait to oogle the card in person! :) Love the details. :)
Thanks for dropping by Sheri. Can't wait to show it to you in real time. See you tomorrow!
Thanks for dropping by Betty Lee and for your comments. I was happy with how the colour mix turned out and the inside of the card was so much fun to do.
Wow, Penny, you have done it again. You are truly inspirational and way to go winning this challenge. Love the inside too. What a surprise for the person opening this up. It is a WOW card for sure.
Thanks so much Heather. I didn't know I'd won. Will have to post my Rocked it badge. Yeah! So excited. Glad I inspired you and you liked the inside of my card!
