Hi stampers. This week Helen Finley is hosting the Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Watercooler. This was a tough challenge for me this week. I've had a great deal of difficulty trying to focus, to come up with an idea and to get my mojo on. Does this happen to you?
Helen's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge will run until 5:00pm Mountain Time on Monday February 26th.

Would you like to join us? We certainly hope so, as we love having new and returning players and can't wait to see all the projects. If you've never participated in a card challenge before it's easy to play along. All you have to do is make a card or project with a masculine theme, take some photos and link up using the Linsky at the bottom of our challenge page. There are a few other rules to follow and that's it. Who knows perhaps you'll by our next "Rock Star".
Here's My Card:
I'm a big fan of Tri-fold Shutter style cards so I thought I would make one for this challenge. I used an old tutorial designed by Marcy K of Canton Ohio for the Operation Write Home blog. Click this link for Marcy's fabulous step by step tutorial and a PDF Diagram showing all the cutting measurements for the various boxes.

I’m always excited to see what creative and inspiring projects you come make, and you didn’t disappoint. Beautiful tri-fold shutter card, Penny! Fresh bright colour and the lighthouse is a great image for masculine cards. I haven’t made one of these types of cards in ages. Fantastic job. xx
Trina thanks so much for your comment. I love the High Tide set and I think it lends such a masculine look to this card. Tri-folds are one of my favourite styles but it's been a while since I've made one too.
Shutter cards are so effective, Penny! I haven't made one for ages - you have reminded me, I must make another one! Your card this week is great. I love the colours and the great choice of images. The combination make for a wonderful male card!
Thanks so much Helen for commenting on this week's card. I'm glad that my Tri-fold shutter card reminded you of this style and that you're going to make one yourself. That makes me feel really good. I loved the colours too. After a long winter beachy monochromatic colours work well to stimulate the senses.
Oh Penny! This is stunning! Front to back, such detail. Beautiful card and I know it is going to WoW your friend. Very masculine.
Thanks so much Heather I really appreciate your wonderful comment. Yes he thought it was fun, so that was good.
Penny, it's been far too long since I've used this special fold! And you've used it wonderfully well. Love the colours you've used and they way the cuts and folds highlight your sentiments and those images. That front strip is so narrow and yet you managed to create a full scene on it with that lighthouse and the grass in the foreground as well as those flying birds. Beautiful work!
Thanks Heidi, I appreciate your commenting on this card. I really like this card style, and think I'll be using it again soon. So many different ways you can dress it up or down.
