Another Catalogue Sneak Peek..... Pansy Patch

Over the weekend I had a chance to play with one of my new sets called Pansy Patch.  This beautiful stamp set and accessories will be available to Stampin' Up! customers for purchase on May 4th, 2021, when the 2021-22 Annual Catalogue is launched.  In the meantime only demonstrators, and those who sign up as new or returning demonstrators can get it in the Demonstrator Pre-Order.

The designer series paper called Pansy Petals has richly coloured and designed images.  Two of the sheets in the pack had just pansy images and so I began gan by cutting out the individual pansy images.  There weren't any leaves on these pages, just the flowers, so I stamped rows of leaves to pair with the flowers.  I used my Mini Cut N' Emboss machine to cut out all the images, what fun!

I used small pieces of washi tape to hold the dies in place on the paper, but the Pansy Dies are amazing and really hug the individual flower shapes ensuring you get good clean cuts. I stamped the leaves using the new In-colours Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. These also die cut beautifully, and it didn't take me long to have a stack of flowers and leaves so I could get on with my card making.

Here are my cards:

I made three cards each focusing on a particular card style that would show off the designer series paper (dsp).

Card One:

My first card is a flip and pop card featuring the Fresh Freesia Gingham dsp and card stock.

This card took approximately 8 minutes from start to finish and I must say it's one of my favourite cards.  It looks so sweet and fresh.  I'm planning to make more using the new In-colour palette.

I purchased a package of In-Colour Jewels in my pre-order, and they are absolutely beautiful.  They come in the new In-colours and I  added three in the Fresh Freesia colour.  So beautiful!

Card Two:

My second card features a split panel of dsp.  The original piece measured 4" x 5 and I've cut it in half at the 2" mark and used the front for the top layer and the reverse side for the bottom of the card.

I really like the combination of Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen in this striped designer paper, and how these colours coordinate so well with the Soft Seafoam of the card base and the background design in the floral portion of the DSP.

To showcase the flowers I die cut a 3" stitched oval from Soft Sea Foam and the next smaller size from Evening Evergreen  card stock.  I chose three of the larger flower designs and layered them onto the oval with a combination of Tom Bow glue and Dimensionals.  The oval was adhered with Dimensionals to the card mat. The leaves were hand stamped on Whisper White card stock and die cut.

I cut a strip of white cotton ribbon and secured it around the center of the mat to hide the paper seam, before adhering this layer to the card base.  I tied a small  bow and attached it glue dots, once the flowers were in place.

To finish the card I added the "thank you" sentiment which was stamped with Versamark Ink on a scrap of Blackberry Bliss card stock and then heat embossed with White embossing powder.  This tag was die cut using the smallest die in Stitched so Sweetly.

To complete this card I attached a tiny Bumble Bee trinket with glue dots and added some sparkle around the flower centers with Star Dust Stickles.

Card Three:

My third and final is called a Front Flap Fold and features a double panel fold and belly band. This was also a very quick and easy card to make.  The most time consuming aspect of making this card is deciding on the blend of designer series paper and what to layer on the belly band.

I love how this Pansy Petals designer series paper incorporates some of the other colour collections.  This card has a Blackberry Bliss base and the layered circle is cut from Bumble Bee.  Although this is a very bold paper it has a rich tone that isn't overwhelming.

Well that's it for today's sneak peek.  Hope you enjoyed it.  The Pansy Petal Suite will be available May 4th, when the new 2021-22 Annual Catalogue goes live.

HAPPY STAMPING!

Sneak Peek - New Catty ....coming soon

The new 2021-22 Annual Catalogue will be available on May 4, 2021.

Being a demonstrator has it's perks.  One of them is the opportunity to order from new catalogues before anyone else.  My first order from the soon to be released 21-22 Annual Catalogue arrived this past week, and I'm over the moon excited to share a couple of sneak peaks with you.

I was so thrilled with all the new products I received in my first order.  As you can see there are new blends, stamp pads, card stock, markers and embellishments.  There's also a couple of new stamp sets tucked in there and some awesome designer series paper.

I'm in love with the five new In Colours for 2021 through 2023.  They are right up my colour alley in terms of colour hue.  A little bit between Subtle and Regal.  I haven't got a favourite so far although I'm leaning towards the Soft Succulent green and the Pale Papaya.  Here's a peek:

There are so many new stamp sets, bundles and dies to choose from but I settled for three sets in my pre-order.

I made this card with a set called Party Puffin, and I guarantee this is going to be such a popular set. What fun!

The second one I've been working with is in a suite called Pansy Petals. Even though I've got lots of floral stamps and dies, I simply couldn't resist getting the stamps, dies and paper for this suite. It even came with some cute little bumble bee trinkets.

As you can see this is a work in progress and I'll be returning with some fun samples.  So that's all I'm sharing for today, it's time to get back in my craft room and create.  Come back again soon.

Happy Stamping!

May Paper Pumpkin - Batter Up

May's beloved Paper Pumpkin baseball kit was made for celebrating the all-stars, MVPs, and legends in your life.  Whether it's for the men, Little Leagers or sport-lovin’ ladies this fun and nostalgic baseball kit is sure to hit a home run.

The Batter Up kit materials feature bold primary colors, classic pinwheel and pinstripe patterns, and a stamp set fit for a hall of fame.  Corny, I know, but with the May Paper Pumpkin, there’ll be no “batter” way to root, root, root for your home team.

For even more fun, this month’s kit contains a chewy ballpark staple—MLB bubble gum! What a fun bonus item.  You can chew while you craft, slide it into a card, or save it for later.

Paper Pumpkin subscriptions offer thoughtfully-themed, all-inclusive project kits that encourage crafters of any skill level to explore their creativity, try new techniques, and discover their potential in papercrafting.

Sweet Strawberries - Birthday Cards

How do you like your Strawberries?  I like mine fresh picked, sliced and served in a chilled bowl with a touch of  milk and a sprinkling of sugar.  Weird I know, but that's how I've always loved them.

Stampin' Up! has a beautiful Strawberry stamp and coordinating builder punch bundle that's featured on page 44 of the January to June Mini catalogue.  This is fast becoming one of my favourites. I really like the images and sentiments in this set which could be used for many occasions.

Sweet Strawberry Bundle

Here are some cards I've enjoyed making and sending out for my February and March birthday cards.  Enjoy!

Since COVID 19 changed all our lives, I find I'm sending out more and more cards by snail mail and so I'm making them in batches instead of one card at a time.  I loved the design of the next cards because they are quick and easy to make in an assembly line fashion.

Assembly Details:

First of all a disclaimer, because I don't want you to be disappointed.  The beautiful Berry Delightful DSP you see featured on these cards is no longer available, as it was part of this year's Sale-a-bration promo.  But these cards can be made with any other designer paper or with your own One Sheet Wonders.

  • For these cards I began with by cutting ten pieces of 8/12" x 5 1/2" Whisper White card stock and scoring it at 4 1/4" for the card bases.
  • Next I cut 5  5 1/4" x 4" mats from Poppy Parade  and 5 from Garden Green.
  • Then cut ten pieces of designer paper into 3 3/4" x 5" mats and then cut each of these at 2 1/2" for top and bottom layers.  Adhere a top and bottom to the mat.
  • Before adhering the mat to the card base, cut ten 6 1/2" strips of white cotton ribbon to hide the joint line of the dsp. Adhere each end firmly on the back of the card stock mat.
  • Cut ten additional pieces of ribbon for the bows and adhere with glue dots.
  • Add a sentiment (see note below).
  • Cut ten panels of Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4" for the inside of the card.
I like to make all my sentiments separate from the cards and then I can choose which one works for the occasion.  So I made stacks of sentiments for the card fronts, by die-cutting stitched circles, ovals, and square pieces of Whisper White card stock, stamping sentiments including strawberries and leaf images, adding embellishments like rhinestones and then matting them on coordinating card stocks.
When I'm working with a designer paper I like to make batches of sentiments that I set aside that are pre-stamped with a variety of sentiments and in all kinds of shapes, as you can see from this picture.  That way I'm always ready to make a quick card when the need calls.

I pre-cut ten Whisper White mats for the inside of the card that measured 5 1/4" x 4".  And while I had the stamps out for the sentiments and design I stamped these inside panels.  I used left over dsp pieces to add strips to these panels.

Hope you enjoyed this selection of cards made with the Sweet Strawberry  bundle.  They were truly made with love and I enjoyed sending them out.

Happy Stamping!
