Get Well Wishes #638 Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

Narell and the design team at Freshly Made Sketches have posted another beautiful sketch.  I liked the clean and simple design of the sketch, so I decided to use it for a get well card I was planning on making.  Here's this week's sketch:

HERE IS MY CARD:

I pulled a stamp set from my collection called Cheerful Basket to use as the focal point for my card.  Here is my version of the sketch:

SUPPLIES USED:

Stamps, Dies and Embossing Folders:

  • Cheerful Basket #158674R Stampin' Up!
  • Sincere Salutations  Salutations (R) Stampin' Up!
  • Sending Dies for the sentiment strip #159271
  • Layering Squares Dies #14708(R)
  • Cross Hatch from the Online Exclusives Embossing Folder set
Cardstock and Paper:
  • Whisper White 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" for base scored at 4 1/4"
  • Whisper White Mats for front and inside.  Front mat 5" x 3 3/4" and Inside  5" x 3 3/4"
  • Sweet Sorbet for mats on the front and inside cut 2 at 5 1/4" x 4" 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square for DSP mat.
  • Scrap of Granny Apple green for sentiment mat
  • DSP scrap Incolor 2022-2024 Sweet Sorbet plaid design cut out with 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" scalloped square die.
Ink:
  • Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp images and for sentiments
  • Stampin' Blends:
    • Apples - Sweet Sorbet, Real Read, Petal Pink, Dark Cherry Cobbler, Granny Apple Green for leaves
    • Kitten - Granite Grey light and dard, White Color Lifter, Smokey Slate and Petal Pink.
    • Basket - Crumb Cake L&D, Pecan Pie (L&D) Early Espresso (D)

Sincere Salutations was one of the first stamp sets I bought from Stampin' Up! back in 2006 when I joined, and although it's retired I'm still using it to this day.

Cheerful Baskets #158674R
I covered the surface of the apples once they were coloured with blends, with a glazing product called Nuvo Drops.  This makes the surface shine and look like  real little apples.  What fun!

When I'm working on a sketch I like to make notes of the supplies used and samples of what was stamped or cut out.  It really helps me remember how the card went together.

I didn't take a picture of the inside of the card, but quite simply, I matted a piece of Whisper White onto a base of Sweet Sorbet and adhered this to the card base.  I stamped "Get Well" from the Sincere Salutations stamp set
in Momento Tuxedo Black ink .

Thanks for dropping by.  Leave me a comment if you like this card or if you have any questions about how it was made.  Cheers!
