The last few weeks have been incredibly busy so I was unable to post a picture of the Valentine cards I managed to mail and hand deliver prior to Valentines day. I was so proud of myself because usually I'm doing this at the last minute and it's such a mad dash.
Because I had given myself plenty of time I was able to design five different cards using combinations of real red, chocolate chip, black and whisper white cardstock. Stampin Up's Eyelet Border Punch really made these cards pop! It's one of the few tools I have here, and I used it to great advantage along with the large oval punch. I also made good use of the "A Happy Heart" stamp set by Stampin Up and the Candy Lane designer paper.
While I was waiting for the Happy Heart and DSP to arrive from Stampin Up, I dug into my old stash of stamps and found one that I absolutely adore called Rose Stemmed Hearts (C8460) from Stampington & Company (2005). This is such a romantic stamp and can be used in so many beautiful ways to adorn Valentines, Wedding or Anniversary cards. I thought it was quite effective with 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon, layered in real red and black card stock (see above picture). I also made some using 1/4" real red grosgrain and changing up the layers. Here's a closer look at that version.
Hope you like these samples and thanks for stopping by.
