Here's this week's sketch challenge by FMS #760 and hosted by Jen. Since I've just arrived home from a month's vacation, and have been getting resettled I haven't had a lot of time for card making. This sketch challenge looked like it would be an easy one to do, providing I didn't overthink it.
Here's My Card:
I decided to keep the background paper light and not too busy so the focal point would stand out. There is virtually no stamping on this card as the focal is cut from the dsp and the sentiment was already pre-stamped last year.
Supplies and Instructions:
Stamps and Dies:
- Stylish Shapes 1" and 1 1/4" nesting stitched circle dies
- Spellbinders 1 1/8" and 1 1/2" nesting circle dies
Cardstock and Designer Paper:
- Very Vanilla card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and a 3 3/4" x 5" matte for the inside
- Real Red - cut a matte for the front and inside 5 1/4" x 4"
- The sentiment was pre-stamped on a scrap of Whisper White
- A Little Christmas 12" x 12" DSP #168414 cut one matte 5 1/4" x 4" for the card front and cut this piece on the diagonal. Paste the left hand side of the DSP to the Real Red matte leaving an 1/8" border around the left and top sides of the matte. The bottom triangle needs to have an 1/8" cut off on the right hand side before it's pasted to the matte. This will allow spacing of the two triangles on the card front.
- A DSP strip measuring 3/4" x 5" was adhered to the inside of the card.
- I cut the mice in Christmas stocking images from the DSP and cut them out with the Stylish Shapes stitched circle dies they would all be the same except for size. The Real Red cardstock circle mattes are cut with Spellbinders 1 1/8" and 1 1/2" circle dies.
Ink:
- Real Red
Accessories:
- Red Sequins
- Dimensionals
I hope you enjoyed this quick little card. Thanks for dropping by. Until next time......
HAPPY STAMPING!
