Three Cheers Masculine Birthday Card - #AHSC612

Happy Monday and thanks for checking out my post today. I thought I'd start the week off with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge created by Michelle and digitized by Brandi. This sketch ends on January 19th, so there's plenty of time to get crafting on it. Hope you'll join in the fun!

Here is My Card:
I'm in dire need of some masculine cards for upcoming birthdays, and this sketch inspired me to pull out my very "manly" retired stamps and dies called Brewed For You.  I'm calling this card "Three Cheers" because of the three beers that are proudly mounted across the front of the card.

Supplies:
Cardstock:
  • 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" Crumb Cake for Card Base
  • 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" Early Espresso for mat on card front small scrap for sentiment strip mount
  • 5 1/4" x 4" Whisper White for inside mat
  • Scraps Whisper White for three beer jugs and foam
Designer Paper:
  • 5 1/4 x 4" Piece Early Espresso/Crumb Cake dsp from Neutral Pack 2024/25 for mat on card front
  • 1 1/4" x 5" strip Early Espresso design for across center of card front
Ink:
  • Momento Black for stamping sentiments and images
Accessories:
  • Mini Cut and Emboss machine for die cutting beer mugs and foam
  • Dimensionals
  • Nuvo Clear Drops for beer mugs
Well that's it for my post today.  I hope you liked this card.  If you have any questions regarding how it was assembled or about the product used please drop me a line, I'd love to hear your comments and questions.

Cheers and have a great week!

Notes From the Heart - December 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit

The DECEMBER 2024  PAPER PUMPKIN KIT called "Notes from the Heart" was available for those who subscribed to Paper Pumpkin from November 11th until December 10th, 2024.

My kit arrived in mid December but except for a peek at the contents, I was just too busy getting ready for Christmas to play with it until this past week.

I instantly knew this was a kit I could work with, although I wasn't a fan of the three card suggestions.  I knew that I would have no difficulty adding my own flair and ideas to these card supplies.

The Notes from the Heart kit included nine hand-sketched botanical designs, and enough supplies for 9 card projects.  The supplies included pre-cut vellum leaves, sentiment labels, sparkling gems, white scalloped card bases, nine Mossy Meadow envelopes, Tear N' Tape, Adhesive Dots and a Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin Spot.

My two favourite things about the kit were the Notes From the Heart photopolymer stamp set and the sentiment labels that were trimmed with gold.  I know I'm going to use this stamp set a lot.

Okay so  enough blathering, here are the cards I made with this kit:
I made nine alternate cards using Basic White, Mossy Meadow, Pretty in Pink and Blackberry Bliss cardstock for bases and mats. Mats dry embossed with  Springtime Print, Basketweave and the 3D Fern Embossing Folders provided some added texture.  The Designer papers used for mats came from Storybook Moments, Timeless Plaid and Subtles DSP paper packs.  A variety of gems were used beyond what was provided in the kit.

The checkered dsp in this card is from the new Timeless Plaid DSP in the January to April Mini.  The embossed background was made with the Springtime Prints Embossed Folder which is retired.  To make the vellum leaves stand out I used a blending brush and Mossy Meadow ink.

Thanks for dropping by and taking a look at my card creations.  I hope you enjoyed these cards and if you have a favourite or any questions please let me know.  I'd love to hear from you.

It's 2025 and this is the first sketch challenge of the new year for me.  In fact, I have made a resolution to try a new sketch challenge at least twice a month this year, and to encourage my followers to join in the fun.  Who's up for a challenge?

Karen Johnston is the sketch hostess for this week's sketch  This challenge is open until Monday January 13th at 3:00pm EST, so there's lots of time for you to play along. I'd love to see what this sketch inspired you to create.  Stop procrastinating and take this opportunity to sit down and craft.

Here's My Card:

Here Are My Cards:

I couldn't wait to get crafting when my Stampin' Up! order arrived. So, here are the first cards I made after I unboxed this suite. All the papers are beautiful and I loved having two pages of ephemera die cuts included with the Storybook Moments 12 x 12 designer paper:

The Timeless plaid has 48 6 x 6 sheets of designer paper and both sides of the paper are useable and attractive.  The 12 x 12 Storybook Memories includes two sheets of die cuts (ephemera) and there are 5 double sided designs which can be with images that can be cut out with the coordinating dies or fussy cut.

I chose the garden patch designs for this Thank You Card, which came together in a breeze.

This is a split fold card fancy fold card design.  It really shows off the beautiful vegetable  patch and brocade design papers.  My coordinating cardstock colors were Mossy Meadow for the flap and Wild Wheat on a Whisper White base.

My second card is a Ping Pong fancy fold birthday card ideal for either a child or adult's special day.  The Timeless Plaid paper is absolutely gorgeous.  I was able to match up the plaid stripes with Calypso Coral and Real Red cardstocks for a very coordinated looking the mats.

My third design is a simple Get Well card using the die cuts from the Storybook Moments dsp and Timeless Plaid papers.  The cardstock is Misty Moonlight and Whisper White and I love how the Calypso Coral in the plaid coordinates so well with the Misty Moonlight.

This second Get Well card shows how well the Timeless Plaid papers coordinate with the Storybook characters. The Get Well stamp, sentiment circle and gems are from December's Paper Pumpkin kit, which I'll showcase in the next post.

I hope you enjoyed my card designs using products from the Storybook Moments Suite.  I am enjoying playing with all the stamps and dies and plan to do an All Occasion card class featuring these sets and papers at the end of January.  I'd love to have your comments.

Darling Dino Birthday

Who doesn't love Dinosaurs? I know I'm a big fan, and when the dinos are as super cute as the ones on page 51 of the newly released January to April Mini catalogue, then they are a "must have". The Darling Dinos stamp set was created by Diana Gibbs, one of Stampin' Ups! Million Sales Achievers.

This bundle consists of 25 photopolymer stamps and a 16 piece coordinating steel die set. There are seven sweet and punny sentiments - three cute as a button dinos and lots of super cute accessory stamps so you can get really creative with this set.

Purchase the Darling Dinos bundle #164735 and you're guaranteed a 10% savings  from the individual stamp or die price.  Note:  This set comes in French or  English versions, so make sure you have the right product number before ordering.

For my first card creations for 2025, I chose a birthday theme with Fresh Freesia and Old Olive for my main colours. I embossed the Fresh Freesia mat 4 x 5 1/4" with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder (158804).  I love the background texture.

For the second mat I die cut a piece of Whisper White with the 2nd largest  Perennial Postage dies #162607.  I used Pool Party light and dark blends for the sky and Old Olive blends for the grassy area.  There is a fun "grass" stamp included in the Darling Dinos stamp set, so I stamped that across the bottom in Old Olive ink.

Isn't she cute?  I had fun colouring this little girl with Fresh Freesia and Rich Razzleberry blends and carried the colors over to two of the balloons.  Her sweet little bow is coloured with Balmy Blue Blends and has a basic rhinestone in the center.

This sentiment is perfect for the birthday theme and the Dino looks pretty cute in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

For the inside of the card I wanted to keep it simple so chose to add a couple of balloons and sentiment.  The sentiment is from an old retired Stampin' Up! set, but it's one of my favourite go to's for a birthday.

So that's it for the first card post of the new year.  I hope you enjoyed this card and will leave me a comment.

Happy Stamping!
