Woolly Sheep Birthday Wishes AHSC #671

Here's this week's sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #671

Here's My Card:

For today's cards I'm using some new products that were released the first of March by Stampin' Up!.  The Designer Series Paper I used on the top portion of this card is  called "Painted Illusions" and it was the Product of the Month release for February 2026. Trust me when I say I really didn't need another package of 12 x 12 paper, however as a $5.00 purchase it was a really good investment.

The moment I saw the stamp bundle called Woolly Friends I wanted it, however I couldn't get it as a bundle because the punch that coordinates with the stamp set was sold out.  I decided to order it anyway, and I'm thrilled.  It's really not that difficult to fussy cut the cute images and since I'm a sucker for little farm animals  this set just rang all my bells.

You've Got This - Sympathy Card using FMS #725 Sketch

Welcome March!  You arrived with beautiful warm breezes and a sunny day.  My bestie Sheri, brought some extra joy to the day by presenting me with this beautiful bouquet.  Such a special gesture, by a dear friend.  Made me smile everytime I went into my kitchen this weekend.  Thanks Sheri!

I haven't had much time for stamping this week but I did manage to make a sympathy card using the Freshly Made Sketch #725 outline hosted by Cecile.

I hope you'll visit their blog and check out all the lovely samples from the Design Team and other participants. There are so many good ideas using this sketch:
Here's My Card:
This layout was perfect for a sympathy card I needed to make.  I used a couple of old stamp sets for the background and floral images

Sorry these pictures are so dark, because the card is actually beautiful and bright.  I did sponge around the bottom corner on the inside of the card with Highland Heather ink but this photo doesn't show it that well.

I used the large splotch stamp from an old retired set called You've Got This and once I inked the stamp up with Highland Heather ink, I stamped off to the next generation to get a softer effect. This is another of my go-to stamps that I keep in mind when I'm doing backgrounds or focals.

Supplies and Instructions:

Stamps and Dies:
  • Friendly Hello #158075 stamp set for florals
  • You've Got This #139575 - background splotch stamp
  • Flourishing Phrases for inside verse #141534
  • First Frost #148420 dies for flower spray
  • Three Leaf punch for black leaves
Cardstock and Designer Series Paper (DSP):
  • Card Base Basic White 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
  • Mattes cut two from Basic White for front and inside 5" x 3 3/4"
  • Scraps to stamp floral images on
  • Basic Black 4" x 5 1/4" for matte on front and for black leaves
  • Highland Heather matte for card front 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and 5 1/4: x 4" for inside matte.  Scraps for floral sprigs
Ink and Blends:
  • Momento Black ink pad
  • Highland Heather ink pad
  • Highland Heather blends light and dark
Accessories:
  • Greetings for All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack for "Thinking of you" sentiment on front  of card
  • Dimensionals
  • Sequins
  • Blending brush

Thanks for stopping by.  Come again ...............

Match Day Birthday using AHSC #670

Happy March Everyone!  It's a beautiful day with sun shining and warmer temperatures expected today and tomorrow in Abbotsford BC.  With blossoms appearing on trees and snowdrops in full bloom in my garden I feel excited for the up coming season.

Atlantic Hearts Challenge #670

Here's My Card:

Once again I'm using the Wonderful Match stamps, dies and papers to create a masculine birthday card. This sketch from Atlantic Hearts was perfect for creating this fun birthday card which came together in no time at all.

The Wonderful Match designer papers are really awesome.  They include two half page layouts of tags, so once I checked out the sketch design I was inspired to grab one of these tags to use in the card front focal. After that it was just a matter of choosing a background paper and a circle.  I used a retired stitched circle die from Stampin' Up! to cut out the trophy from the dsp graphics page and added this with dimensionals to the card front.

I'm still at a loss to as to which photopolymer stamp set in my collection this "Enjoy Your Special Day" sentiment is from. So if you know, drop me a note.

I used the Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers to finish the card front, but instead of putting them at the top of the card as shown in the sketch, I added them to the trophy circle and sentiment strip to give some additional pizzazz.

For the inside of the card I stamped "Happy Birthday" using the long retired Perennial Birthday stamp set.  I never get tired of this sentiment because of it's size.

The matte is a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of designer paper and matches the strip on the front of the card.  The white matte measures 3 3/4" x 5".  I've added the soccer ball and grass die cuts from the Match Day dies to add some more interest.  Love those  dies.

Thank you for visiting and for leaving me some words of encouragement if you like this rendering of the AHSC#670 challenge.  I hope you'll visit the Atlantic Hearts Challenge blog to see all the wonderful cards posted by the Design Team and other participants too.  Hopefully these card samples will inspire you to be more creative and to challenge yourself to try new layouts and ideas.  Until next time......
