Petal Pizazz

Here's a little card I made with the Petal Pizazz stamp set (113417) from Stampin Up. I absolutely love the images in this set and anticipate making many projects including cards and card candy with it.
This is a standard sized card with the scoring at the top on the short side. Recipe: Red Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White card stock and Raspberry Tart DSP. Inks used are Pirouette Pink, Red Riding Hood Red and Cameo Coral. Two gold brads and 5/8 inch Red Riding Hood Grosgrain Ribbon add accents. Used Scallop Circle and Word Window punches for sentiment. Enjoy!

Belated Valentines

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy so I was unable to post a picture of the Valentine cards I managed to mail and hand deliver prior to Valentines day. I was so proud of myself because usually I'm doing this at the last minute and it's such a mad dash.
Because I had given myself plenty of time I was able to design five different cards using combinations of real red, chocolate chip, black and whisper white cardstock. Stampin Up's Eyelet Border Punch really made these cards pop! It's one of the few tools I have here, and I used it to great advantage along with the large oval punch. I also made good use of the "A Happy Heart" stamp set by Stampin Up and the Candy Lane designer paper.

While I was waiting for the Happy Heart and DSP to arrive from Stampin Up, I dug into my old stash of stamps and found one that I absolutely adore called Rose Stemmed Hearts (C8460) from Stampington & Company (2005). This is such a romantic stamp and can be used in so many beautiful ways to adorn Valentines, Wedding or Anniversary cards. I thought it was quite effective with 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon, layered in real red and black card stock (see above picture). I also made some using 1/4" real red grosgrain and changing up the layers. Here's a closer look at that version.
Hope you like these samples and thanks for stopping by.

Stamping With Cheryl

Tonight I'm off to a stamp club meeting run by a great gal named Cheryl Lefore. We'll be making 3 projects - one using the faux metal technique, one using the reflection technique and a treat bag. Can't wait to try these projects and it should be a fun class.

When I moved to this area five months ago I searched Stampin Up's Website for demos and found Cheryl's site. I wasn't disappointed. Cheryl welcomed me to the area and into her stamp club and acknowledged my Canadian demo status. My first full day workshop at Cheryl's was so fantastic and we made so many projects that just rocked! Cheryl is not only a great cardmaker but she's also an awesome cook and baker and treats us to many of her special dessert recipes and salads. Yum!! Starting a New Year

Well, I'm 3 days past my 59th birthday and I'm thinking this is the year to get out there and grasp life, try new things and stop procrastinating about everything. Unlike "New Years" I want to set some goals for this year that will actually bring about some positive changes and help usher me into a new life style.

One of my goals was to start a blog that I could share with my friends who love cardmaking, stamping and paper engineering ...... a fun place I could showoff some of my creations and thoughts. So here it is Penny Tokens Stampin Spot. I don't know where this journey will take me, but I plan to post regularly and hope you will join me along the road. Stay tuned.
